So, usually I do pieces like this every so often about people that mean a certain thing to me, have a specific significance or people that are just simply inspiring. My take on people through my eyes. That’s right, Lia Silva style bitches. Honest and real.
This, is my dear friend and boyfriend, Andrew. Never have I ever crossed paths with such a unique individual. Andrew is such a strong, caring, personable, communicable, aspiring, reliable, however, self defeating human being. I wish that for one day, he could look through my eyes and see what I see in him every day; Things that he does not see in himself that I wish he did. Andrew is different from the rest of the men that I’ve ever had the pleasure of coming into contact with. In a sick way, I kind of like the fact that he doesn’t know how great he is. You must wonder why I say that? Because I’m the one girl who gets to remind him why he’s so great every time I see his face. And that right there, is an accomplishment in itself, the feeling of being able to tell someone you deeply care about, how amazing of a person they are and how much they mean to you. But enough of this lead on, let me jump right into it (:
Andrew has the most darling, remarkable, MOST beautiful and by far, the most penetrable green eyes I have ever seen. I swear that every time he looks at me, I smile without reason. But please, I smile at even the slightest thought of him.
He is rebellious, daring and intimidating, though doesn’t try to be. He has a side so sweet and nurturing you wouldn’t think they’re the same person. Andrew hides and I mean in a very self guarding sense. He has his walls up, but who doesn’t? The last thing people want is the feeling of failure, hurt and loss. I know how that feels. But I can promise Andrew I’ll be that one girl who will tear them down, if already broken, I’ll break them even more. Why? Its a woman’s job. Its my job…as a REAL girlfriend, to rip back his every layer and see him on the inside, not only the outside. but its also my job to reveal another part of himself he doesn’t know exists. By showing himself to himself and truly understanding who he is, he’ll learn more about the man he is, but most importantly, he’ll learn to get by and stand through destruction and any hurt that may surpass him. To get through another part of life.
I’m leaving soon. I’m moving to New Jersey. And boy, will I miss him more than anything. Just through his presence had made me open up my eyes to the world. I see people every day that live, or live just because and clearly, to live doesn’t mean you’re alive. I see fear on so many faces, the harsh reality of life smacking a wake up call on every single person who needs it…
Andrew, let me be honest my love, but I see fear, grief, self defeating torture and denial plastered all over your face. Please don’t take this as an insult, take it as girlfriend constructive criticism (:
Andrew Travis, what I want for you more than anything is to see you happy. I want nothing more than to see you conquer the world and to live your life to the fullest. Be who you were meant to be. Stand out, do epic and memorable things, even its you look foolish doing so. Take a stand for something you believe in even if it means standing alone and please say what you feel…even if your voice shakes. Share with others your most deepest and darkest times, but don’t reveal everything, because that one secret to yourself will allow you and only you to know yourself and who you truly are. Don’t you dare ever live your life according to the expectations of others, for you will get lost on the focus of yourself, where that should be your MAIN focus. People have opinions and people will talk shit about you, let it all go, babe. The world is won by those who let it all go, for those who try and try and try, the world is beyond winning. You are an outstanding son, brother, nephew, friend, and boyfriend. Get rid of all your fears. Fears are illusions of the mind, you make them up. Don’t allow fear to ever get in your way. I want you to follow your heart and follow your dreams, no matter how ridiculous they are…because you can do anything.I mean it. And for those who tell you can’t or you won’t, look back and say, ” watch me.” Nothing can bring you down you are the strongest person I’ve ever met. Don’t give up ANY opportunities because you may never have the chance to get them back.
Baby, its ok to get lost, make mistakes and to do things different. I admire you for all that you are and I accept you for the life that has brought you to this present moment. I don’t care what you’ve done out who you’ve hurt, just accomplish your goals even if you have to be a little selfish to get there.
You have a great deal of potential that you are not puting to good use and it bugs the shit out of me. Use everything you have, don’t waste your inner powers on self torture.
I can see right through you, and I know you can and WILL rise above. Make this your motivation and inspiration while I’m gone to do good, and no, not do well, do good….for those around you and for you. Make a change in the world even if smiling at someone is that change.
We as people rely on grand gestures and big things to be some of the greatest feelings or moments in or lives, when for some like me, are found in such miniscule moments like the first day I met you.
I love you, Andrew.the world is yours for the taking. Live life as it his, but also be prepared.you’ve given me hope, strength and the belief that my future along with yours, will be a brighter and impressive one.
